rules of photography

Depth of Field (shallow and wide)- Whats in focus, when shallow only a bit is in focus, when wide a lot is in focus.

Light (angle and intensity)- Angle is about where is the light coming from, intensity is about how bright the light is.

Shadows- the absence of light

Diffusion- decreasing the intensity of the  light.

Exposure- what your photo looks like? too light, too dark, or in between?

Aperture (f-stop)- inside lens, how big the opening is. Determines how much light goes in.

Shutter speed- Mirror inside the camera, how fast the mirror opens & closes. ( how fast the photo is being taken)

ISO- sensor inside the camera. how sensitive the sensor is to light.  As you increase the ISO you increase the amount of grain on your photo.

Telephoto- zooms closer to subject

Wide- More in a photo

Prime- fixed focal length, bigger aperture setting
